Couples Counseling

Do you feel like your relationship is at a standstill? Are you and your partner stuck in the same argument loop every night? Do you feel like you and your partner are drifting away? Do you desire more intimacy between you and your partner?

Relationships are often our greatest source of strength as well as our greatest challenge. Couples therapy can help improve communication, identify and change patterns, and provide opportunities to learn new skills to work through conflicts, restore harmony, and increase intimacy.

Some issues that bring couples to therapy are:

  • Addiction/Partner Addiction Support
  • Balance (Work/Life/Family)
  • Blended Families
  • Communication/Conflict
  • Division of Labor
  • Divorce/Exploring Separation
  • Extended Family
  • Infidelity/Cheating
  • Intimacy
  • Mental or Physical Health
  • Pre-Marital/Readiness
  • Trauma

My approach to couples counseling is informed by Gottman Level 1 training, Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy along with training in Betrayal Trauma. I enjoy helping couples reduce stress, engage in healthy conflict, and change unhelpful patterns. I am LGBT2QIA affirming and committed to decolonizing mental health practices for marginalized communities.

I do not provide services to couples currently experiencing interpersonal/domestic violence or court-ordered for counseling or assessment. Couples counseling may not be a fit for all couples and in some cases, individual counseling may be recommended before beginning or continuing couples work.

If you and your partner are interested in exploring the dynamics in your relationship or healing from past wounds, I would love to speak with you about how I may be able to support you in your goals. Please reach out for a free 20-minute consultation to see if my services might be a fit for your needs.
